Get Psyched

Before your long-term goals can come true, you must reach smaller, day-to-day goals toward obtaining the kind of physique you want. Before you can squat 400 you have to get 200 up, 300 and 350. Breaking your goals into segments can make reaching them much more realistic and managable. "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step."
You want to push every workout to the max. And, don't be afraid to fail. Fear of failure is much worse than failure. Failure is a good thing! If you know where you're utomost limits are, you know where you need more work. The limits are set and ready to be broken. Worrying about failure can prevent you from giving it your all. Train hard and push yourself to the limit. Get motivated to do everything in your power to climb higher on the staircase. Don't be afraid to test your limits. Lift intelligently, but with complete confidence! You will go farther than you can imagine.
A big part of motivating yourself includes visualization. Here are some things that may help motivate you:
- Imagine how big your competitors are during your workout and how much bigger you are going to be.
- Visualize your favorite bodybuilder.
- Get outside inspiration by lifting with a training partner bigger than you are.
- Imagine getting hooked up the with girl/guy of your dreams with your ripped body.
- Think of the intimidation factor you will have over everyone around you.
- Motivate yourself by thinking that everyone's eyes are on you, the pressure's on, you're in the spotlight.
- Visualize your body the way to want it to look for every set, focus on this image...and eventually you will get there!
